Carbon Projects Origination Manager

Your tasks

  • Origination of nature-based projects for voluntary carbon schemes, with a focus on the initiation of new opportunities
  • Assessing, prioritizing and structuring early-stage carbon projects, including the coordination of feasibility studies and concept notes as well as the initiation of project implementation
  • Pro-actively engaging and growing our network of local project implementation partners, project scouts and cooperation partners
  • Strategy development to improve and deliver highest quality climate action
  • Close collaboration with our technical specialists to initiate and support the project implementation as well as carbon certification in accordance with international standards
  • Strategic alignment with the commercial teams to structure the project pipeline and to cover the demand of carbon credits and customized carbon projects in quality and quantity

Your profile

  • Strong expertise in the fields of climate change mitigation, carbon markets, forest carbon projects and other nature-based solutions
  • Proven track record of building successful partnerships, including the ability to negotiate mutually beneficial terms
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a role requiring strong international communication skills
  • University degree in economics/resource management/forestry/sustainability or related fields
  • Professional experience in Latin America, Africa and South-East Asia is an advantage
  • Strong organizational and process management skills
  • Proven ability to work remotely
  • Fluent English and Spanish is a requirement; German, French or additional languages are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel
